Director of Engineering Program Management

QSecure, an innovative VC funded financial transaction technology start-up, is seeking a Director of Engineering Program Management for our Los Altos headquarters with approximately 23 engineering and management employees, and growing. This is an exciting opportunity to help grow a company that will be the first and primary electronic credit card technology developer in the world.

You will join a team of engineers and scientists, contractors, and technical services companies developing a high-volume electronic multi-component credit card.  The ideal candidate will have solid program management experience taking consumer-oriented products from concept, through engineering development, and into high volume manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop overall program goals, schedules, milestones and deliverables.
  • Produce plans that reflect business and technology's ability to meet stated goals and milestones.
  • Identify and manage all critical paths related to the program.
  • Anticipate and identify bottlenecks.
  • Recognize and drive opportunities for schedule optimization.
  • Assess risks and develop/execute risk management plans.
  • Drive closure on all issues and deliverables.
  • Directly manage program scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Manage expectations by providing regular and accurate updates to stakeholders, management & partners on schedule, major issues, critical risks and quality metrics.

 

Required Experience:

  • 10 years high-tech product development experience with responsibility for taking products from concept to market.
  • Successful track record leading major programs in the high-tech industry.
  • Experience with bringing high quality, high volume consumer products to market a plus.
  • Ability to think strategically and tactically, communicate well, build consensus and drive decision-making.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive and detail oriented.
  • Resourceful and creative problem solver.
  • Excellent knowledge of engineering principles.
  • Experience with HVM and NPI.
  • BA or BS degree in technical discipline.  Preferred areas include electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • PM certification a plus.
