Each card looks and works just like any other credit or debit card. But QSecure SmartStripe™ cards have QSecure's proprietary chip embedded in the magnetic stripe. Each time the card is swiped, a portion of the magnetic stripe data is changed to a unique number for that single transaction.
The result – credit and debit cards that are secure without requiring any changes in the card acceptance infrastructure or in consumer credit or debit card behavior.
In situations where the card is not swiped through a reader, QSecure is working on a next generation card that will integrate a small, flexible display into the card to make the unique numbers visible for online, ecommerce, telephone and mail order transactions. This combination gives cardholders complete confidence every time they use their debit or credit card, that they are safe from card data theft.
